[After he'd separated from Hades, Rufus had gotten lost. It was his own fault, really, for not bothering to get to know the city well yet. He'd stumbled around in the dark, ducking monsters and any fighters who looked like threats, skulking about in the shadows that filled the alleys and streets, until he'd made it to semi-familiar territory. Rufus knew how to get from home to work and back, and he recognized the area he was in as being near to work.

If he was near the club, maybe Reno was still around. Moving as quietly as possible with a cane in one hand and still-injured bones, Rufus went from building to building, hoping to spot the redhead.]

Not yet, thankfully. I think we should keep heading to a safer part of the city before we get attacked.

We were headin' towards Shibusen. Which way are these things coming from, anyway?

[Reno hefts his pipe a couple of times, anxious]

[Rufus turns back to them and makes a grim face.]

I've heard the sounds of fighting coming from every direction while I was [Lost.] looking for Reno. We should head for Shibusen, and quickly.

[So of course, a Kishin has to choose that moment to stumble across them. Rufus's face pales a little when he sees the thing. It's ugly.]

Oh, fuck me. Dibs on this soul!

[And Reno promptly starts whacking at the thing with his pipe, though it's not doing to well. If nothing else, he's a good distraction.]

[you know, Reno, even in the seriousness of this moment, Asch still thinks you're an idiot.]

Asch looks at Rufus, knowing fully what Rufus was trying to imply.]

[He's a little worried for Reno, but he won't transform unless Asch agrees.]

[Rufus nods and focuses. Changing form feels odd, but he manages it, the adrenaline pumping through his veins making it easier than before and the suddenly it's over. Rufus is now this.]

[Asch didn't think much of it as he grabbed a hold of Rufus (in gun form; the thought was still really odd to him............). usually a sword fighter, the concept of using a gun was still a little foreign to him, but he's seen Legretta do it thousands of times, so it shouldn't be hard...

nodding to himself, he raised his weapon, finger on the trigger, ready to fire.]

Reno, out of the way!

[...of course, he supposed that giving the other redhead a warning would have been courteous.]

[Reno, who by this point has a few bruises and cuts from the Kishin egg, gets out of Asch's way quickly, no questions asked]

[without giving it another thought, Asch pulls the trigger, not knowing what will happen, but pretty much hoping that he hits the kishin.]

[Rufus is pretty sure that Asch can feel his surprise (quickly followed by pride) through the connection between them when flames shoot out of the twin barrels and encompass the Kishin egg. Was... was that his soul wavelength?!]
