Event Summary Here (
Linz, Austria )
Only a few minutes ago, Rhode had been happily asleep in a warm (if not entirely up to her standards of comfort) bed, curled up against her partner and having idyllic dreams of pretty fields and large houses with rose gardens. The alarm wouldn't have dragged her out of sleep, but Mukuro had woken her up anyways, in spite of her whining and clumsy efforts to cling to sheets.
Waking up so suddenly gave her a headache, she observed; it was an odd feeling to have while in her Weapon form, but the foggy annoyance was certainly there. It would have been splendid if she could go back to sleep, let Mukuro do all the work... but no, that wouldn't be terribly fair, and she didn't want to miss out if there was a good fight in the middle of this idiocy.
I'm never going outside in snow again. Ever, ever, ever. Stretching, sighing, trying to shake herself into a passably alert state before they ended up locked in battle. The bed is going to get cold, you know. It ( ... )

And likely drenched in the blood of their enemies, which wasn't exactly a novelty for everyone. Still: a special sort of thrill came with completely wiping one's opponents out.
Mukuro walked along, holding Rhode low over the ground as he strode through the area. He kept to the outskirts of the struggle, waiting for an opportunity to break free of the rest of Shibusen's force and find a good little corner to take some enemies on in.

She yawned, getting cozy beside Mukuro's soul as she took in their surroundings. this was going to be a challenge; where could they go without having to deal with the nuisance of the other partnerships.
How many d'you suppose we can kill tonight?

Perhaps it would not be too hard to do either, if his theories about Rhode's Weapon form were right. Mukuro eventually found a corridor bereft of any friendlies and full of enemies.
At last. The Meister spun his Weapon about, then held it at ready just as the first kishin charged towards them.

A playful little giggle, settling to let Mukuro do what he did best when it came to a fight. Perhaps she should find out if there was some way she could do more than just let him take over, eventually; Stein had mentioned it a long while ago, and it had never quite stopped bothering her.
How d'you think we scare them? Would it still work if we were trying to make it happen?

If Weapon abilities could be anything like Meister abilities, then that would mean that awareness, focus and control would go a long way.
Rhode was welcome to make an attempt: that much should have been obvious now, in the way that Mukuro DIDN'T kill the creature off the bat. He parried, throwing it off of him, giving her a chance to fill in the gap.

There was an edge of anxiety as she tried to figure out what to do, a flare of panic as she realized that she didn't remember the exact way to use her powers the way she did at home- But this is different, it won't work the same way. How, though--
Everything had fears. If she focused on the idea of the monster's terror, the end result, perhaps that would let their resonation create whatever it was that frightened the beast. Not entirely human fear; she knew how that felt, the complicated motivations and the different things someone had to manipulate to create blind panic. Something simpler, more primal; as simple as a fear of pain and death.

-- or attempting to, because now Mukuro was shoving the sharp end of his Weapon into its gut.
Very good.
The smile on his face was positively frightening, if only because it was calm, too calm, and very pleased.

Rhode seemed stunned it had actually worked, letting out a shaky exhale as their opponent shuddered and died on her blade. Mukuro was pleased, at least- But she was on edge, thinking how badly things could have turned out if she had been delayed by even one second. Thankfully, he was calm enough to help soothe her nerves a bit. If he wasn't worried, everything was just fine.
It's... not terribly hard. Just a bit of a strain, after so many months of doing nothing in battle.

Speaking of practice... a few more were coming their way. That time, however, Mukuro moved to attack them.

It was far less stressful the second time, knowing what she was trying to do. Similar to what she had done for years, but working blind; visualizing that quiet invasion of the enemies' senses, the dread she could create with nothing but her willpower.
Maybe we should find someone to test it on at home. So they could tell us if there's any... differences, or something.

Especially if they happened to have been around when Professor Crane - bless his soul - had gone on that silly little rampage.

Rhode hadn't quite made a connection between her own abilities and that nasty fear gas drama, but she had always found the doctor's methods rather crude and inelegant compared to her own. Then again, what she was doing right now felt nothing short of clumsy; she was beginning to get a bit frustrated, pausing in her efforts before she lost her temper.
I want to know what it's doing. There are all kinds of things I could be making them feel and I can't make it the best unless I know what works. What use is making something suffer if you can't enjoy it?
Another huff, but then she was putting her irritation into another outward push of her ability.

Because of that, it was only too easy to take care of both of the creatures up front and stab at a third before it could get away.
Oya, oya. For the first time in a long time, I'm actually inclined to let you stay angry.

She trailed off, taking a moment to collect herself. The effects had been a bit more visible this time, and the fact that they'd flinched seemed to calm her down- as well as the realization that she didn't have a terribly good excuse for throwing a fit.
I just imagined it would be closer to what I'm used to. But I almost don't remember exactly how it would feel, if it was. The little things.

Now he was cheerfully gutting up the survivors from the first wave of kishin.
