[How unusual is it to see a demon shoot things with modern guns? Not very much once you get used to Aion frequenting the shooting range. Today something seems to be wrong, though, as he keeps altering between making okay hits and not hitting the target at all and also shifts his stance and stops to fiddle with and inspect his weapon a lot.]

Never heard of that brand before, but they sound awful neat. What kind of mechanism did they usually come in?

[Vash looks at the cheap pistol he's been carrying.]

It doesn't help good guns are hard to come by around here. I'd rather pick up a revolver for myself, but they're too expensive right now.

Mechanism... I guess you would call it a mix between metal and biological. They are made from the same material as our bodies and work by manipulating energy. Shape is secondary to that.

[He thinks for a moment.]

Are you a member of the Watch? If you are you can try and request a better one for use while you're on your job.

That sounds really neat.

I guess these lumps of steel sure feel like a step down!

[then Vash looks a bit sheepish.]

Me? Not at all. I've worked as a vigilante for so long me and the police just don't get along! ....not like there's any work for a hired gun around here, though.

They are something to get used to, I'll admit. [He shakes his head with an understanding expression.] But they also have their good points. [He grins.] Just as being vigilante must have had. To be honest I'm not exactly good with the system myself where I come from.

No background check, huh?

[Now that sounds like an idea, as long as they have no way of finding out the body Vash is carrying around on his head. Granted. He just blew up a tree up-thread in front of a watch member due to a weapon mishandling. Vash might not get the best references.]

It'd get me a descent gun a lot faster than bagging at the checkout lanes at the mall. Do they care if you have a partner or not?

Most people here think that only what you do here should matter during your stay.

[He shrugs casually, inclining his head to the side as he gives Vash an amused-calculating look. Getting more manpower to an organization he wants to see fall sounds counterproductive but on the other hand it would be just another pawn on their side of the field. Maybe one that could be useful for him as well.]

I don't know, I never had one so far. I think they prefer to have partnered teams in higher positions due to the stronger firepower they can provide but that's about it.

Must be pretty refreshing if everyone gets a blank slate like that.

[Vash gauges what Aion is saying, it doesn't sound too bad at all.

Of course, "Counterproductive" is Vash's middle name.]

I'll have to check it out! The guy in charge is Roy Mustang, right? What kinda guy is he, if you know?

[So this might be a "lucky case" after all, huh?^^ ]

Mister Mustang? He is ...very dedicated, I guess. From what I cal tell he is always very busy and nice enough, albeit somewhat ...how do you say? He's a bit offish. Sorry, I hope that's the right word.

[Hard telling. They don't call him The Stampede for nothing.]

Offish? Like he doesn't care to be around people? He doesn't sound like he'd be too bad to work for though!

[Oh my~]

He isn't. It's also not that he dislikes social contact, but rather... [He shrugs.] It's a bit as if he wants you to talk about yourself but doesn't want to return the favor. That's the impression I got.

..Of course, our cultures and species are different so it may be normal for him.
