Characters: OPEN to new arrivals and NPCS. Where: En route to Casualty Communal Rating: Gen Time: January 9 onwards [forward dated] Description: Whoa, it’s been a while!
She kept her voice low and even. "I was not here personally when the incidents occurred, but he's become a Kishin and joined the Witches."
Naoto was unsure how many normal residents and Guests knew that Adachi was from their world. She wasn't sure what the reaction would be if anyone caught wind that they knew the killer and they knew of his crimes. Would they jump to the idea of faulting them because they were aware of how dangerous he was?
His eyes narrowed at the name, and he immediately wanted information: How long has he been here, and where the hell is he. If his face needed rearranging, Kanji was more than happy to oblige.
...But he was a Kishin, and joined the Witches they were charged to fight, and some of the color drained from his face.
"That slimy son of a bitch," was all he could manage. And here he thought the man was serving his jail time and had come to grips with what he had done. Well that figures!
The color in his face began to return, and he gave a meaningful glance to Shibusen at the very top of the city.
"Do they know about him? What he did?"
He looked back to her.
"...What any of us might know?" She wasn't the only one thinking this, it seemed.
Naoto certainly wished this had been the reformed Adachi. Perhaps they wouldn't be fighting against him like this... Perhaps he wouldn't have attacked Senpai and the others. Maybe Dojima wouldn't be as withdrawn as he is.
Slowly, she shook her head, "I don't know how much Shibusen knows, but I assume Souji-senpai told them a few things at the very least. As for myself, while I'm willingly assisting the efforts of this War, I'm not sure whether or not to divulge the information we've gathered."
Naoto raised her head, meeting his eyes. "Senpai hasn't told me everything. I want to inquire both him and Dojima-san for further details, but I haven't had a chance. I'm considering arranging a meeting so we can all be brought up to speed so to speak."
He swore under his breath but was otherwise silent, waiting for a pair of strangers to make their way by and out of earshot before he proceeded. He firmly nodded.
"I'd hold off. If he's a Kishin, Shibusen knows he's good-for-nothin', unless he's tossin' people into TVs on top of everything." He wondered if they could still do that without their Personas... he hadn't thought to touch a television screen yet.
"Sounds like a plan! I wanna know what's up, too. Who knows? It might be up to the Investigation Team - or what's left of it here - to go over n' kick his ass again."
"No, he's not tossing people into televisions. Though, he is summoning fog and forcing people to fight their Shadows," Naoto replied rather blandly. It was just a prospect she wasn't looking forward to again; confronting her shadow the first time was bad enough.
"Fortunately, it turns out we're not the only ones here with Persona experience. Unfortunately, those of us from Inaba remain the only Persona-Users who have faced our Shadows in order to awaken our Personas. Our numbers are few so it will be necessary to prepare a few outside of our circle."
Ugh, the fog. There was no way in hell he would let anybody see his Shadow again, least of all see it himself. He swallowed apprehensively, but nodded. The teen was silently relieved to have found his glasses in his coat pocket earlier.
"...Think you can prepare somebody for somethin' like that? Our Shadows were pretty damn intense." He was positively thankful she'd never seen the bath house.
True, she hadn't. All she knew about his Shadow was in passing and it was brief. Sometimes she wondered what everyone else's Shadows had been like.
"You can't fully prepare someone for their Shadow, but we can warn them to be ready to face the darkest facet of themselves. What they say isn't the entire truth, but in interpretation, it is... For example, perhaps I... did consider the idea of surgically altering my gender..." Naoto spoke softly at that point, but then shook her head. "However, the main point was that I wanted to be accepted, but was unsure how to do it with my biological gender at present. I have an idea now thanks to all of you rescuing me."
He folded his arms with that. Despite his body language giving off all sorts of stubborn confidence, those eyes still found the brick wall of the building across the street absolutely fascinating.
"Tch! Th-that's just 'cause the rest haven't seen you in action."
He looked back at that. Why did that sound familiar?
"So you prove 'em wrong, show 'em how you really are."
He had a feeling Death City's residents were going to have something of a field day with him. It wouldn't get him down, however. If he can change people's minds in Inaba, he sure as hell can do it here, too.
"It will take some time. I still work as a Detective here after all..."
Being a light-hearted detective was basically difficult for her and didn't make sense considering what they had to do. Were it a more pleasant job, maybe it would be different... though, she supposed she should put in a little more effort.
He shrugged, letting it go. A thought occurred to him then, and he reached into his pocket, pulling out a small set of keys with a cutesy little skull keychain attached. He could always figure out his communicator later, but when the city is layered like this he didn't even know where to begin figuring out where everything was.
"Oh yeah... you've probably been here a while, right? Y'know where this 'Creeping Crypt' place is?"
Naoto stepped out towards the street, but then paused, waiting for Kanji to follow. She'd allow him to settle into his room here before informing him of anything else.

"Gave m- uhhh, gave us a serious scare back there, too. Sweatin' bullets! I'm glad we got there in time."
His arm lowered and he looked away. Kanji's shoulders hitched awkwardly as his hands went into his pockets.
"I-I think you're pretty cool the way you are."

She blinked, confused when he turned away, but then smiled faintly at his admission.
"Well, you're one of the rare few who would say that."

"So far, I assume people see me as stubborn and uptight." So in other words, not at all different from home.
