[Yuuri hadn't given Leo much of a choice when it came to coming on this mission or not. The moment that he'd discovered what was happening, the young Maou had found the Meister, taken him by the wrist, and forced him along. They had to go and help!

That was where they were now. Running through the mirror, Yuuri's heart felt as though it was about to jump out of his throat at the sight he saw.]

Leo!

[He tried to keep the fear and panic from his voice, but it didn't work well. Then he was off and dashing towards the front lines. He didn't miss the onslaught of Kishin Eggs leaping over the barricade.]

We've got to help them!

[lionborn]

[Leo had been pretty much complaining and resisting all the way, insisting that Yuuri had plenty of other people who would actually WANT to get dragged into this kind of shit and that he should just go bother THEM instead. Until they stepped into that street and he realized at one strike what was going to happen.

Yellow eyes turning wide with shock that wasn't quite terror (at least not for himself), the Half stopped dead in his tracks at the sight.]

Jesus fucking christ doing all the other gods, they're all dead!

[His petrification doesn't last for long, though, not when that fucking idiot who has dragged him into this slaughterhouse is already running ahead and trying to get himself killed. Cursing once more, he clenches his fists and dashes after Yuuri.]

Ya fucking moron, where do ya think you're going?! We don't even have weapons, you'll get killed!!

[A part of him hadn't even thought that far ahead. All Yuuri saw were the deal people in the street, and the young Maou had forgot everything else like having a weapon on him. That wasn't the fact though that he was fully aware of Leo calling out behind him.

He sighted a few of the Kishin Eggs noticing their position and turning to face them.]

We've got to protect whoever's left.

[Turning back to face Leo, he temporarily ignored the Kishin Eggs.]

You've got me!

[Seeing the kishin eggs and guessing what Yuuri is up to, Leo lest out a gruff huff.]

Which makes it a lot better. Goddammit, I thought I made my stance about killing here more than obvious by now!!

[Despite his words he skidds to a halt, one hand open to take the sword the moment Yuuri would transform. Mentally he is still cussing up a storm. Fucking damn, it doesn't look as if they would get out of here without a fight!

...Looking at the dead bodies, he feels his rage rise. Fuck, he hates killing but seeing those poor bastards makes him want to mess those things up badly!]

I know. It's not easy for me either, but I won't let innocent people get hurt.

[When Leo came to a quick halt, Yuuri didn't hesitate in transforming. They'd only partnered up once before in the past, and it had been in a sort of similar situation. While he hated killing, Yuuri had learnt the hard way that it was unfortunately unavoidable here.]

[The moment that Leo took hold of his Weapon form, his bladed body began to emit a soft blue glow as their souls began to harmonize. Feeling the rage rising within Leo, the shape of Yuuri's Weapon form began to shift as it became a far more impressive design.]

[Leo's eyes widened as the blade suddenly started to glow and change forms and for a fracture of a second he ended up almost dropping it. Catching himself, he forced himself to stay calm and to accept the sudden felling of closeness to the other no matter how much it made him want to instinctively withdraw.]

...Great. I touch you and you get bigger. Couldn't you have warned me about that?

[His attempt at humor was short-lived as the kishin eggs weren't wasting any time closing in on them. Calling upon an experience that wasn't his and still suddenly in his mind the lion stepped back and switched into a fighting stance, sword raised and ready to strike.]

Damn brat, ya really owe me one for this one.

[The surprise was felt between their link, and what remained of Yuuri's personality offered a sheepish apology through it.]

Sorry about that. I guess I kind of forgot?

[The Kishin Eggs were rapidly closing the distance between them. The first leapt in towards the pair in an attempt to knock them down, while the second one coming up moved in to attack.]

I will! You can ask for anything...!! Watch out!

[lionborn]

[Seeing the first ones come, he grimaced.]

Yeah, you're a real bad yedi.

[Then he shut up and dodged the first egg's assault by leaping to the side, greeting the second by ramming the sword into its ugly face. Not waiting to see what damage he had done he twisted and delivered a crushing blow towards the backside of their first attacker in a downward swipe that made the kishin egg hit the ground.

Tearing the sword back out again, he quickly stepped back. The short exchange of blows had been enough to make his blood rush in his ears and he flashed their remaining enemies a challenging smile that barred his fangs.]

Two down and I'm not even breaking a sweat, ya bastards. Who wants to go next?!

Yedi? What's a yedi?

[Yuuri had no idea what that was, but there was no time to consider it as Leo began to attack. Each strike the Weapon form made only seemed to make Yuuri's blade begin to glow in a soft blue hue. By the downing of their second enemy, that same blue glow was shining brightly as another Kishin Egg came over the barricade and attempted to ump down on them.]

[Leo had no time to wonder what was up with the weird glowstick-in-the-dark effect Yuuri was starting to display as he continued his struggles. He was trying hard not too think too deeply into it or let his thoughts stray in the direction of his knowledge that those were people they were attacking and that, no, they wouldn't be standing up or be fine anymore. In fact, the Half was trying very hard not to think at all while also consciously clenching down on the fact that he was a rational people and that he couldn't just let his instincts take over. (Because that would have ended in a bloodbath of manslaughter.)]

A yedi's a- FUCK!!

[Seeing the kishin egg coming rushing down on them he instinctively jerked the Weapon up in a desperate attempt to block.] YUURI!! [It took less than a moment but he could tell that their reaction was too late.]

[Yuuri didn't have any time to ask again as they found themselves being suddenly overwhelmed by the kishin eggs began dropping down from above.]

[The eyes on the Weapon form widened in horror as Yuuri saw what was about to happen.] Look out!

[A light seemed to to form directly above them both as the kishin fell. Spanning out across the pair, the barrier thwarted the incoming attack as the beasts crashed into the field.]

[Leo had half a mind to spend his last moment asking Yuuri what the hell he thought he was doing, but then everything happened too suddenly. A light flashed, the shield sprang up and he automatically ducked as the kishin egg crashed against it.

THE FUCK?!! [Okay, getting into a battle didn't leave him the most coherent.] Bastard!!

[He didn't wait as he used the shield as a guard to break themselves free, leaping backwards with feline agility and ignoring several minor wounds doing something that risky got him.]

I didn't know you could do something like that!

[The kishin eggs slammed into the barrier that protected them. He heard Leo's explicit surprise, but Yuuri was currently busy keeping up the barrier to actually respond to it.

A sheepish feeling spread throughout their link as the Meiser leapt away from the battle, and if he'd been in human form, Yuuri would have been scratching at the back of his head.]

Aaa sorry about that. I found out that not that long ago.

Whatever, it just saved our collective asses! [He spared a moment to grin down at the weapon, expression wild and a bit exhausted already, but also clearly grateful. Having that thing go down on them would have taken a nasty end.] Well done!

[Re-orienting himself, he hesitated for a moment. It seemed like other fighters from Shibusen had arrived and the townspeople themselves were also putting up a brave fight for humans.]

..back into the fray or should we go back and protect the backs of those who run? [Whatever way of action they decided on, they'd have to do it fast.]

[Yuuri's hollowed eyes peered up at Leo to sight the grateful expression his friend had, and he smiled brightly at it in return.] Thank you! [He'd never been thanked for anything he did in battle before, and it was something that left him feeling happy. Maybe he could do something right in a fight then?]

I've got your back, so we should have the backs of others, right? [There was nothing but conviction on Yuuri's end. He wanted to protect everyone he could - including Leo.]

Don't mention it. [It wasn't as much manners it conscious thought but pure force of habit that had had him say those words. If somebody saved your ass you told them that that was good because that increased the chances of them being inclined to do it again should need be. Simple street-logic.]

Roger. [He nodded once and started a light jog that would let them catch up with the evacuating humans, the kishin eggs hot on their heels. Only when they were back within the jumping-reach of a Half, Leo turned around, ready to fight once more. Taking a deep breath, he mumbled to himself.] Only zombies, they're nothing that's alive.

[The truth was that he was scared.]
