this. Who is left on the outside?
Twenty minutes after Death Scythe's announcement, the sirens were still going off, because the attacks hadn't ceased much at all. There was quite a bit of damage to be shown, but at the moment, Maka Albarn had stopped caring about the destruction to the city and was more concerned with getting anyone and everyone out of the area as soon as possible. The shelters were closed now, but Maka knew that there had to be those who were stuck outside. It was her responsibility, along with her fellow technicians, to find these people and protect them.
Maka was moving quickly through the city, ducking into alleyways here and there to make sure there was no one hiding in them. She stepped just inside the doorways of homes and businesses, calling out for anyone to answer her. If she happened to be walking in the middle of the street, she cupped her hands around her mouth, shouting.
"Anyone who is still here, show yourselves!" It seemed like the easiest thing to do, though she wasn't sure just yet how to convince someone that she was friend or foe just by her voice. She wasn't too keen on yelling who she was, plus none of the new arrivals would know her.
Maka made her way further into the city, checking everything she could on her way. Their orders were to find those left behind, protect them, and watch the attacks from afar, for now. She felt her chest tighten a bit. Nothing was every as easy as just 'watching'. She had an idea of how this would end, and knew what her orders would be before they were even given to her.
