"I notice," Kaoru began after a moment, mouth twisting in clear reproach, "that you haven't asked to spar with me."

Squalo stopped playing with the sword he was supposedly weighting and turned to look at her with a blink that clearly showed she'd caught him off guard.

"No?"

"But," Kaoru went on, slightly irritated, "you asked me to teach you, and you asked for a spar with pretty much anyone who grabs a sword during morning training."

She looked at him expectantly. Squalo couldn't, for the life of him, figure out what the heck was going on. So he blinked again, sword hanging down his side, held in loose fingers.

"So?"

Kaoru rolled her eyes.

"I want to know why."

She'd been wondering, considering he stopped by an hour or so during training every morning, like clockwork, and followed her instructions and took her critique with barely a dry remark and a sardonic yes, ma'am, before he wandered off to challenge whoever was unfortunate enough to be holding a sword at the time. But he never asked her. He'd teased her about it, when

Some people may have found it strange to see Yuuri sitting across the street from the Casual Communal building, but he was there and sitting in quiet thought. Nobody that knew him knew that he was there, and for once, Yuuri was glad about that. This had always been a place that he'd avoided, and he'd purposefully kept himself too busy since his return to think about this place. He would have continued to avoid it as well had he'd not found his attention straying up towards a room he knew far too well. When that had happened, the young Maou had felt compelled to stop and take a moment to remember the legacy of everything that had happened, and everyone he had lost because of it

Contrary to popular belief, Clovis occasionally reflects on who he was and who he now is. He still cannot say if he is proud of what he has become, or if he can really live with himself. Before he always had the ability to hide behind his title as a prince, and keep matters that were personal-personal and present a nice public face to the world. It is only now that he understands that face is only good in a world ruled by Britannia. These little things that make him wish he was home to know who he really is. Clovis as a person, he cannot say that he is even sure who that is
