This is for the Relationship Theme, since inquiring minds wish to know.
Name A: SK.
Name B: Danielle.
What kind of fate that makes you meet each other?
A: IT WAS A DARK, STORMY NIGHT…okay, well, not really. Or maybe it was. I don’t remember. Anyway, we met last year through what we call a Core, which is a Bible study branched off from our normal Friday night church. And now she’s my roommate…funny how that works.
B: A friend invited me to a Bible study some time last year and SK was there. The group wasn’t too big, so we all got to interact with each other. SK and I bonded over House MD, and now we are college roommates.
How do you spend your time together?
A: We watch Soul Eater together. And make lots of inside jokes. And I like to tease her…a lot. And talk about personalities and Myers Briggs. Then sometimes she drives me to the mall or a random store, etc. because I don’t have a car. So I guess you could call that mooching? Um…Anyway. Moving on. She’s fun to talk to, but she’s fun to watch and analyze from afar, too. Because I’m thinking about being a psychology major so I love analyzing people and trying to predict what they may do or may not do, and why those results happen. We’re also both Christian and go to similar Christian-esque groups, so she’s the person I turn to if I have any questions about that. Oh, and we respect each other during study time for the most part (although I may bother her here and there on occasion, and certainly expect the same in return from her, although I often don’t get it), as studying is srs bsnss. She also…rants a lot to me about random (often school-related) stuff.
B: Mostly by watching House and Soul Eater, listening to music, watching you tube videos, and having very interesting and entertaining conversations… which is really just a long way of saying “by distracting each other from our homework”.
What are your similarities?
A: We’re…both introverts? Oh, and we both watch House MD (and now Soul Eater). And we’re both pretty laid back for the most part, at least with each other. And we both love pointless (but interesting) personality quizzes. I’ve also found that we can both be kinda blunt when we want to be.
B: We both like to understand people, yet we are also both introverts. We also have similar senses of humor. I suppose we also tend to agree on tv shows and music more often than not.
And what are your differences?
A: She’s really indecisive like…all the time. I can understand that happening on occasion (as it happens to me, too), but it’s to the point where I have to sometimes beat out of her answers (as I have a curiosity that knows no bounds and I always seek the truth). I’m also more pessimistic, I think. And I’m a bit more spontaneous (at least, when I’m in a good mood), creative, and adventurous. If I’m bored I want to DO something, or GO somewhere. But in the end I think I have a darker…aura? If that makes any sense. Also, according to Myers-Briggs I’m an ISTP while she’s an INFJ, so that makes us almost opposites minus the introversion.
B: She tends to be a pessimist, while I like to be more optimistic. She is involved in many clubs and has many hobbies, while I spend more time on school work and like to keep the rest of my time open to whatever I feel like doing. She also talks way more than me, and I have a much shorter temper.
What do people think about you two?
A: Hard to say when I’m not able to read other people’s minds, I’m afraid. And quite honestly, most of our interactions happen inside of our room, so not many people get to see how we really act towards each other. I think when we’re in the dining hall we’re a lot quieter than usual. (Or maybe it’s just because that place is just so damned LOUD.)
B: I think people are entertained by some of our interactions, especially our arguments. If I had to guess, I would also say they probably get confused. Most of the time, we are a bit more normal in public, though. Well, maybe sometimes…
Which song do you think is the best to describe your relationship?
A: “What is Love?” BECAUSE WE PLAY IT ALL. THE. TIME. And seriously, I don’t know what “love” is.
B: Excalibur’s song. We sing it to annoy each other, because annoying each other amuses us greatly. Only within reason though. We wouldn’t want anybody to feel the need to throw anything, would we??? *glares at SK* . . . *dodges pillow* (and by *dodges pillow* I mean *attempts to catch pillow and fails*)
A: Hm. You fail a lot, don't you?
Now, you are trapped in Soul Eater realm. Who will be the weapon, and who will be the meister?
A: I know she’d want to be the meister deep down, but in the end it would be me. I hate being controlled. And I think I may be the more…forceful of the two.
B: I would more likely be they weapon. I am usually pretty chill, and probably the less controlling of the two of us. I would also prefer the pressure of the fast decision making to be on her, as it would stress me out more than carrying out a plan. I wouldn’t want to be too controlled though.
A about B
What was your first impression about him/her? She was quiet and easy to talk to. I tend to shy away from people who are too boisterous, as it overwhelms me. But I open up more to quiet people, as long as they have an interest in common with me. For her and I, it was House MD, so I’d geek out about that show and talk to her a lot about it.
What makes him/her special? She has a good balance of selflessness and selfishness. She helps people and goes out of her comfort zone to do so. But at the same time she studies hard for her tests and has time for herself. She has a balance I don’t think I have…I think of myself as self-centered and quite the hobbyist, and I bet that the average human would think my priorities are out of whack.
Have you ever experienced something uncongenial about him/her? On some days I’m not too fond of her rants, but on others I don’t mind them. But when I’m in a bad mood or whatever I may just tune her out and say “uh-huh” in a zombie-like manner multiple times.
