My mom just received word from her radiologist re: her most recent brain MRI. All the tumors have shrunk dramatically and the radiation is doing what it's supposed to do. Aside from the surgery site, everything looks really great! Not every patient who undergoes radiation will see results a month later, often there's no change so this is ( Read more... )

In NYE party preparation I made some awesome pizza with garlic Naan bread (idea shamelessly stolen from momebie) to begin the night. It was so delicious. Sometimes I really outdo myself. Went with my mom to the hospital today for an MRI. Spent little time waiting as I had to run over to another clinic to drop off a form to be filled out by her doctor. I saw the allergist at Froedtert today which was good timing as I landed myself in the ER on Monday from eating watermelon. That makes total sense, right? In any case it was probably one of the worst appointments I've had or at least definitely in the top five ( Read more... )

Thank you everyone for the good thoughts and prayers. Mom is doing well. She had surgery on Tuesday morning--there was a total of four tumors, one large mass on her left temporal lobe (which is actually the right side of her head) and three smaller ones on the opposite side.
