These are amazing! Are you allowed to say where you're going to work? It sounds awesome! I'm doing HR for BioWare now and I was thinking the other day that it would be weird/small world if I got something from you!
awesome work! i like zombie concepts and bw environments! congrats with the work, u deserved it! i pm you at ca.org about school but i see now i'm a little off, if you have a time please drop some words... thx.
it is the real atelier set up, with the only changes being for the better. same price, more options. it does not have accreditation and, therefore, offers no monetary or visa support for foreign students, unfortunately. the only way to attend is to save up a small pile of cash and take a leap of faith. we had a russian student last year and she's already graduated and went on to work at EA :P
if you do want to apply to the program, let me know. i can help you out with portfolio presentation and quite possibly help you get that portfolio in the right hands.
wow, sourgasm, thanks for the link! the program is looking very dope. now I'm thinking how I can solve the money question, as soon as I can break it down I'll let you know.
do you have contacts of that russian student or nick name at ca.org? maybe she can provide some info about the price of living and so on. the money damn is the main problem for me now... :\
i can definitely provide a very detailed account of just how much it costs to survive in this school. it is significantly cheaper than any other form of education. cost of admission alone is $7200 a year. basic setup for supplies will cost less than a hundred, though you'll have to add on to that as you go, and the price increases steadily if you oil paint regularly. so that puts you well under $8000 a year for the school itself, which is a steal for the accelerated and, in my opinion, superior educational program you'll receive. that said, you have to worry about rent. San Francisco is the second most expensive city in the country, just behind NYC. a studio apartment is going to run you $750 to $1000 a month... and thats in the worst parts of town. step food in any direction towards a nicer part of town, and studio apartment rent starts at $1000 and goes up to $1500. so the school is very cheap, cost of living.. crazy high.
send me an e-mail at joshgodin AT gmail.com and i'll put you in touch with the russian girl who attended the
i'm headed to Huntsville, AL, unfortunately. the cost of living is about a 60% cheaper than here in SF, so rupa and i are just going to relax and hit up nyc every other weekend or so :P i can't say much about the project i'll be working on, but it may involve undead things and desolated cities :P
we're definitely going to visit new orleans, too. i haven't been back yet!

if you're still interested in the traditional atelier program (with the members of Massive Black still involved), you want this:
