Why is it that the sound of ones parents eating seems so much louder and more irritating than that of other people eating?

Interesting subject!!
I really enjoyed reading that..

I've noticed this in the past.. Ie. with things like "Children In Need"
& "Comic Relief". They're aiming at the "poor" people, getting them to
donate money that they can't afford (& if they don't donate they're made
to feel guilty) whereas how many footballers (for example) give over some
of THEIR money?! Hardly if any at all! When these are the people who
should be paying up seeing as they get A LOT of money.

yeah i think it's an interesting and complicated subject too... on a personal level it has lot to do with one's conscience - whether one wholeheartedly wants to do good to others and thinks it is right to give away one's money and heart. on a social level, one's decision to be generous can be encouraged/ provoked by all sorts of things rather than being self-initiated hence making the act of giving problematic. and of course in practice there is always the matter of economical affordibality involved...
