FRI JUL 26, 2003

Woke up LATE. Around 1:30pm or so. Tried to clean and organize things in my room but I feel stumped now. Kinda like writer’s-bloc. Maybe I can call it “cleaners’-bloc” or “organizers’ bloc”.

Saw this movie, “The War of the Roses” w/ Michael Douglas and Danny DeVito in it. Its about a lady who gets tired of her husband and ( Read more... )

i enjoy baseball alot and your right....in 1994 or 95 whatever year it was because i forgot (when baseball had a strike) well around that time i became a celebrity bat girl for the marines against san diego padres game. Well i get to be inside the bullpen with the marilins, blah take pictures, and throw the game ball...well some player i forgot who it was that played left field in the beginning of the marlin season i think jeff conine i think thats his name...well i asked for him to sign my ball and i remember clearly the f**ker ignored me! I WAS STILL A KID AND HE IGNORED ME! my dad has a large collection of baseball cards like omg his closet is full of collection and he has like a little display glass thing here in the house full of gold plated 14k cards of all the best players and etc etc....he has all the pins collected at all the marlins game since they started. .. baseball is fun i enjoy it :P

Jeff Conine was nice to my sister and I when we ran into him at a gas station in Weston. He signed autographs for us. Were you calling him right before the game was to start or right before he was to bat? Some players don't like talking to peopel right before they're gonna pitch or bat. THey see it as bad luck.

Conine was always the "quiet type" though. I think he's underrated as a player... But this guy, Ray Castro. He's a third string catcher just sitting in the bullpen, and he didn't need to be prepared for the game or anything.. yet he woudln't take out a second to sign something...

So If it was right before the game, you probably caught him at the wrong time then...

Yeah. I told you that you were somewhat close to my area. I'm in Broward County which is about 3 counties south of where you are.

One thing you'll like about FLorida is that there is NO INCOME TAX here. Hopefully it will stay that way.

Cal Ripken is an awesome man. He has his own stadium and team, The Ironbirds, about 20 minutes from me, in Aberdeen, MD.

I find it ironic that the O's games are never, and I mean NEVER, sold out-and they are major league. Yet the Ironbirds are a minor league team and there is a wait list for all games, plus a wait list to become a season ticket holder. That's impressive, and just goes to show how much Baltimore, and really all people, love Cal:)

So what league are the Ironbirds in? AAA? AA? or what? ALso how many people does their stadium fit? Camden Yards, I imagine is harder to fill up since it fits about 45K or so.

Also, the Orioles probably aren't selling out games b/c they're in 3rd or 4th place in the AL East and don't have much of a chance for a Wild Card. I wish the Marlins got the Orioles attentdence. We're averaging 11K or 12K a night and we're only 1 game out of the Wild Card. Fortunately tongiht, on a wednesday, there were 38,000 peopel there b/c it was a pitching matchup between Dontrell Willis, who is a rookie sensation, against Randy Johnson. Also, they've won 6 games in a row, which helps. I predicted in the beginning of the season that the Marlins woudl win the wildcard, and when they were losing, I thought I was crazy, but now, I may not be!

I think that Cal Ripken Jr is great too!
