Well, today was exciting of you like the kind of excitement that comes when you car brakes go out. Scary. I guess the master cylinder is out or maybe just a brake line. See I can sound al calm and knowledgeable after I’m home for some hours, after talking to the auto repair shop and also reporting it to Gary when he called home on his break. But ( Read more... )

MY break lines are dry, no doubt. I had to push the pedal to the floor and then try ot push it through the floor just o get it to roll to a stop. I crept home and had my body in a fist the whole time.

I slept badly, those car-out-of-control dreams came in various forms all night. I was lucky to be on level gorund the whole time, no hills except the off ramp. I rode the brake so I wouldn't go thorugh the intersectin.

I forgot about the emergency brake. I fogot all kinds of things. I was just on a homing beam to get to my safe house.

I'm yawning now, but don't want to sleep if it brings more f those dreams.

Gary had to work OT so I have to let him sleep. Then we'll drive the car to the shop ASAP, before coffee and everything if I have my way.

I have a doc's appt in the AM that I'll probably have to cancel. Damn.

I guess. There were two more rusted brakes lines (!) so they are getting replaced. The car is due for inspection, argh! Another year older and we could skip the emissions BSA but no such luck. It's a '96. A new catalytic convert is needed. Bummer. These are good shop guys, honest, so so scam. But never cheap, huh?

Healthwise, OKish. Another post.

Oh my goodness - but it's over now and you did ever so well to get home and well parked. It's an awful sensation to find that you have to pump madly to slow down, but now it's in the past. Enjoy the goldfinches!

Yes, and I've seen cardinals too. They like the mini garden up here on the deck, not high but high enough for them I suppose, and on a slope so seems higher. I might put out a finch feeder. I miss the big tree we had for shade but there are trade-offs.

The brakes were just in time. Other lines were ready to go too, now getting fixed.

I hear cardinals occasionally but the tree canopy is so dense around the creek now I can't see much, and of course they never come near the condo itself. At our other place with binoculars I could see the pairs in the fencerow in the park across the highway! There is a birdfeeder here down by some firs, but can't see it from up on the 8th floor!

So glad everything is getting fixed.
