On book three, huh? I don't think that is such a desperate case. I mean...I started when there were 4 books....read the whole series and have subsequently reread it every time another book has come out....I just wish to god he would finish it already....the character developement is amazing...the story is amazing...just finish it....
I don't suppose to many people who know me in the club industry and can tell that I like flirting with strippers and trying to seem important know I am a fantasy geek and have a pention for wasting hours and hours on the internet.

Oh god, you've been sucked in. Jordan is an asshole. I started reading the series in '91... Everytime he starts tying things up ('cause the plot gets very large and complex) he goes back and yanks out all the knots, and then introduces more threads. The right bastard. My theory is that he'll never end it- It's grown too big, and he doesn't know how. He'll keep on stalling, and milking, till he dies. (he lives in Savannah, incidentally)
As for the RR Martin, I heard a dirty rumor that the next book is due out in September. (I think that I shall need to reread the first three, so I can have a god grasp on what's going on)
In any case, there's absolutely nothing wrong with being a big ol' geek. Particularly a girl-geek. (damn that's a sexy phrase)

I heard an even dirtier rumor that said it won't be out until December. Now that's just mean. And I wouldn't so much say I was sucked in to Jordan, I put it off as long as I could, but I sort of ran out of huge series to read. I didn't know he lived in Savannah, that's kind of cool. And can I just say, even on book 3 I feel like I'm not getting anywhere in the story, I'll keep hanging in there though.

I think that it was in the 2nd book that he took 10 pages to describe a wall. Mind you, it was a waygate (whatever they are called), and nifty. But 10 damn pages on a wall. eesh.
As for Martin, yeah- december it may be now. It's been pushed back a lot, but at least there's a tentative date these days..

If you haven't read it yet, I would reccomend The black gate cycle...it's a Weiss book....one of my favorite worlds I've ever read....tinker gnomes and even has Fizban or Zifnab...don't remember what she calls the old man in the book...
Don't know if you are serious or not, but I could really use a cute closet dork girl. I'm a promoter and got to have a pretty thing on my arm for club shit, and do diner parties at my house once a month....but it would be nice to have someone to go to new vampire movies with....even anime...though howls moving castle was asstastic...

Maybe Jordan is trying to be the Steinbeck of Fantasy.
