I'm the exact opposite: I'll wear my headphones as a "leave me alone" sign, even when my iPod is out of batteries and I'm not listening to anything at all.
A deserted campus building. Stained glass windows adorn the entrance to a small, round-ish chapel; if one did not know any better (or perhaps if they did), one may say that it could be haunted.
A guy and a girl sit comfortably on a couch, in a small room adjacent to the chapel's entrance. All is quiet, save for their conversation in hushed undertones. Suddenly, silence is broken by another student's passing: a resounding echo of heavy footsteps down a once peaceful hallway.
When all is silent once more, he speaks again: "I'm so glad I don't have an ipod." "I like my ipod," she responds. "Well, I like my laptop-ipod better."
She smiles. Another out of context conversation topic. But that was *him*... and she wouldn't have him any other way.
