Yesterday (and the months of planning beforehand), I was the Safety lead for a spacewalk denoted as "US EVA 5". It was a very good day at work.

The after party was also quite good, which is why I may not be limping into work for a little while.... :-)

As of yesterday, J and I have been "together" 5 years. :-)

So tonight, we're going out. We knew we wanted to go eat at a place called Fogo De Chao's, but what to do beforehand? We're not quite hungry for dinner yet ( Read more... )

This morning at 10am local was the official start of Girl Scout Cookie Sales here in Girl Scouts of South Texas Council. I live in an apartment, so I never know whether to expect hordes of little girls (there are a lot of them around here) or none at all (none of us know each other because apartment people seem to be somewhat of a nomadic culture ( Read more... )

Today was the EVA, and again I'm on from 0230-1200, which is the "execute" shift, which means we're there for the execution of the day's plan. I can't tell you the whooping and hollering that occurred when Steve pulled out that second gap filler successfully. We were all really happy. Yesterday was my first day of mission support. I am on console from 0300-1200. Yesterday was kind of slow for us, until the end. At then end we started working an issue mad crazy that had to do with the gap filler removal task that the crew did this morning. I won't get into it, but it was exciting and kind of collided with the end of my shift.
