i'm coming back to life, i think. perhaps i have been for all this time, and it's like toni morrison says in beloved, its just that anything dead coming back hurts.

i care about creative things again, not just mine but also everyone elses. i laugh a lot again.

it isn't over yet, but 2009 is going to be better. it must be.

i love broken things. don't come back to far from death, you have to go back eventually.

oh but dead is whole and absolute (allegedly, anyway), right? too final, no room for fractures.

i don't have the option of not being broken.
i don't think anyone does, which is a good thing.
