the great workplace caper

I missed my Sunday weight update post due to an extreme lack of motivation. I think it was a result of the extensive effort I expended on my last post coupled with the fact that I lost weight last week and thus was not excited about sharing my progress. Still feeling fairly sick on Sunday didn’t help either, but it appears that I have finally ( Read more... )

I was going to post yesterday, but I had noticed you didn't post so I just decided to put it off. So I guess I will post later today, when I get home. That is sweet that you can have a good time at work, and that you get to spend time slacking that isn't just the dull surfing the web slack. So does this factor into your future plans, and could you possibly continue to work there for a pretty long time? I didn't comment on your previous post, but that was mostly because it was beastly and it required a large portion of time just to fashion a response. And if I go back and post a comment now it will probably not be read by anyone but you, so I'll just post some of that comment here ( ... )

I was going to sass you out for not posting but then I realized that I hadn't posted on my designated date either, and I was risking the counter-sass ( ... )

ry-pie!!
i am greatly pleased that you are enjoying workie! well, somewhat at least :)
also, i just wanted to say i love reading your lj, it's so fun! i hope my xanga can someday be just as clever.
plus, remember those times i used to play monkey ball and would fall off ALL the time? i'm so bad at all video games. and thus the trend continues here. i was playing smash bros with some friends and i was ALWAYS the first person to die. it was a sad state of affairs.
and when i was playing, i was making all sorts of random pokemon noises like we used to do, and everyone just laughed...and didn't really get it.
so in short, i still miss you.
and wish california wasn't so far away from farmtown urbana.
are you going to be home in mchenry at all for spring break? when?
love you!
buhwheat :)
p.s. your title reminded me of those sebastian super sleuth books we used to read a lot...just thought you'd like to know. ha.

If work was actually formally called workie, I would probably enjoy it much more.

I'm glad that my livejournal serves you well. Much of what keeps me going is audience satisfaction.

You actually beat me in Mario Soccer the first few times we played! What the heck...

Sadly, I am probably not coming to McHenry anytime soon. There is a chance that I may come back for 4-5 days around late April. If I did, I might go down to U of I for the weekend with friend(s).

Haha, sebastian super sleuth, the crime solving dog.

He has even come over to my place twice recently to play Monkey Target. Sadly, he actually beat me once last time despite the fact that he started out even suckier than Joe (that blows the mind, right?).

That's pretty bad... But it goes to show that Joe shouldn't have given up on the bet. I'm sure in 1 fricken year that he could have won once. That always blew my mind. Well its pretty sweet like you said that your "boss" is so cool and goofs around with you. We gotta get some more marathons of monkey ball going sometime, I'll own your face!

Yeah right sucker! I have been honing my mad skills recently while you have probably been deteriorating to Joe status. Nevertheless, I am always game for marathon monkey ball, mario kart, or mario soccer sessions ( ... )

lol that was cheating you bag. the rotation effect is part of the game as is knocking other people off the scores. if i had landed the 1000 to beat you and got knocked off, will you have declared the bet to be null? i think you would make me pay up.

as a side note, today my neighbor came by and asked me if i wanted to play monkey ball. thats some freaky coincidence. he'd never asked me before and i didn't even know he had it. i put up some big scores in monkey target and bowling, but got clowned in the punching game. monkey target wasn't really fair though, they didn't know how to play really and thus they couldn't knock me off the big scores. also, itams were on and i got some of the score multiplying stars for maximum savagery.

got some practice to do, i forgot the strats for level 2 and didn't land on the fricken score strip once in four tries, i think i was being too fancy due to memories of getting screwed by subsequent landers so often on that level.

I can't speak with certainly, but I imagine if the rotation effect was the deciding factor in a match with you I would have called off the bet as well. The reason is because while that effect is a part of the game, it clearly is a glitch, and there is absolutely no way to anticipate its occurence nor take any preventative measures against it. At the game's mercy, you just randomly get screwed sometimes, and that should not decide a monetary bet.

Anyway, that is a funny coincidence about the Monkey Ball. I am glad to see that you have still largely retained your skills, and I look forward to playing you again sometime. While playing with my co-worker friend, I too found that I was playing overly aggressive due to my memories of our mad four-way knock each other off slug-fests. Those were the days.
