I just had a wonderful bike ride. I'm so glad I got lost-- as frustrating as it was to find myself 2 towns over on a misnomered street, un-losting myself and really getting to exercise those uphill biking muscles was truly invigorating. The last time I went to the movies was really just an excuse to get Alejandro to give me a ride on his motorcycle, and it was nearly a year ago in Denver. I'm getting blisters on the fingers of my left hand from playing guitar so much.

I think this makes me hard core.

Also, delighted.

Today, for the first time, on the grand stage of the Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Brigham and Women's hospital, I:

1. Passed out... on top of an L-VAD.

2. Stuck myself with a needle.

3. Got a recommendation for Brigham's new-grad ICU program (AKA my dream job).

Three's the charm, I suppose!

Today sort of feels like the first day of school-- productivity-wise, anyhow. It's amazing how similar the chorus of thousands of birds nesting outside my window on their flight south for the winter is to the sounds of an early spring morning. It makes me feel so alive.

However, now it is the afternoon, and winter has only just begun.
