yes i did momentarily i had someone copying and pasting things from my private entries and emailing them to people, lame right? but i decided to reactivate it because ive had this journal for over a year and dont feel like starting a new one
I'm not a member, I have no particular religious affiliation. I hold all religions and all their followers in the same esteem. But the Church of Satan, despite being a little strange, is actually a pretty accepting church.
No, but it was really disheartening listen to one of my best friends rip it to shreds when I said I thought about being baptised there. She sent me a bunch of links to information about things that have gone on in the church, not painting a great picture. And right now, I know I wouldn't be accepted if they knew all the things I disregarded as their rules.
But...they're not asking...and I'm not telling. And I'm not really sure about this, anyway.
mind if i ask which church it was (if it was in the madison area that is?) and what faith you're looking for? I might know of some more open-minded ones... :)
It was the Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter Day Saints. But they didn't tell me I couldn't be a part, I just had a huge problem (and still somewhat do) with some of their church laws.
I'm not really looking for a type of faith, exactly. I guess I'm just looking for it to make sense, whatever "it" is.
Perhaps Unitarian Universalism? I think that's probably the most open-minded church out there - some members are gay (which wouldn't have happened in my ex-church), pagan, agnostic, open-minded christians, etc. They seem to accept and welcome everyone to worship whatever it is that you worship together. So it wouldn't be strict, and you'd still get the same fellowship and faith-sharing that you would in other churches. Or if there's a particular faith you have in mind but want something more open-minded, check with the campus area churches...they have to be pretty open-minded I think to get college students to go. good luck!

I overreacted, and I'm still going to continue investigating this one...but I'd be open to checking out that Church as well.

If you have any ideas, I'd be glad to take them.
