Auditions...as it applies to UNLV

I wish people understood what stage managers do. I wish they knew that a stage manager is there first, unlocks, turns on lights, sets up the room, etc, all before the director even gets there. I wish more than one in 75 actors would sincerely check on their stage manager and ask if there's anything they could help with. I wish directors weren't so ( Read more... )

OMG Yes. And I love the ones who do understand. When we were finishing up strike this summer and all that was left for me to do was box up the scores and scripts for shipping, the ones that were the coolest to me got to help me while everyone else still slaved away in the shop. It's good to be nice to the SM.

I wouldnt know about that, but my employees are too concerned with their breaks and work schedules to notice anyone other than themselves. they really get on my nerves sometimes...

Is there anything I can do for you, madam stage manager?
