Coming across those ticket stubs was funny because recently I was just randomly thinking about slipknot and system of a down, and recalling how though back in the day I may have liked a song or two, I would've never gone to a concert because it would've been too out-there...but turns out I did go! You know, it's easy to be critical of those patients who are non-compliant with their medications and doctor's visits when it comes to high blood pressure and diabetes, because those illnesses are short on symptoms early on and aren't really real until you approach the end stage spectrum of the disease, when taking a few steps makes you short of ( Read more... ) -

quelling the fears of "socialized" medicine
I'd hate to think that someone would vote for the Republican candidate, based on a fear of "socialized" medicine. So here are some common concerns, and my response to them:
#1 If health care was "socialized" smart people would no longer go into medicine.

I hate that Willam Kristol is a columnist for the NY times now. He wrote such a idiotic article earlier this week, bashing Obama. It seems like Kristol is resorting to that classic "conservative argument," calling out "liberal elitism". It's such a non-legitimate argument, and yet it appeals to that parochial-minded contingent that Republicans have ( Read more... ) -
