Flounce

Oct 02, 2009 17:00

I am flouncing from buying Fundamental Undergarments. I know why women in the 60s burned their bras: they'd gotten all tattered, and buying a new one SUCKED. I am going to be a braless hippie, by damn.

Harumph.

I did buy a pile of books, though. Those are easy to buy.

Petticoat Fair is the only place in town to shop for foundation-wear. They pick out things for you, won't let you buy what doesn't fit you.

I bought my backless/strapless one there for the wedding. The fitting was... unusual. It worked, but I'm still not normally a 32DD. :D

OK, what is wrong with me, that I buy my bras from the sales rack at the Outlet store, and my books from The Domain? Ok, to be fair, I also get my books from Half Price, but can't beet a $2 bra... If you don't like it, throw it away. Helps me keep up with losing weight. Every 20 lbs, I buy a good one, like from Petticoat fair.

Nothing wring with Domain books! You can get tea and scones from the tea shop and sit and read your new books, too.

Sports bras and camisoles are easy for me. Sigh.

I can buy unisex t-shirts easily! That's about all, unfortunately... :)

Madspark was sort of laughing as I complained.

Buy more books! Definitely much easier than undergarments! Petticoat Fair can help, but expensive, so just go back to buying books! :)

Yeah, I can get a stack of books for the price of a single undergarment from Petticoat Fair. :D

I join you in your dislike of buying bras. I liked the fitting I got at Nordstrums, and it helped to know my true size, but still each brand and style fits a bit differently and must be tried on. I find Ross's works pretty well because they're cheaper.

I went to Petticoat Fair to be fitted for nursing/maternity bras (38G!!!) and while the fitting was kind, the bras nice though staggeringly expensive, one bra broke the second time I wore it, and when I took it back the salesclerk was rude, condescending, and attempted to humiliate me (held the bra up high between two fingers and said in a a loud voice, "Did you at least WASH it?") She was very reluctant to take it back, claiming that it was my fault that the bra broke because I wasn't supposed to wear until I actually gave birth.

Yeah, I'm still irritated by that exchange.
