Life in a house-for-sale sucks.

But! I have an awesome chance to crochet... an amazing thing. Something I can do while sitting in Borders waiting for realtors to finish walking through with potential buyers.

I am flouncing from buying Fundamental Undergarments. I know why women in the 60s burned their bras: they'd gotten all tattered, and buying a new one SUCKED. I am going to be a braless hippie, by damn.

Harumph.

I did buy a pile of books, though. Those are easy to buy.

A friend of mine who rescues kitties has 2 lovely little ones she needs to find homes for. Here's her description:"Mr Personality has short hair and just about a quarter of a tail. He is lovey and affectionate. Mostly grey with white shoes and throat. His fluffy sibling is all grey and a bit skittish, but I'm working on it." They're 8 weeks old.

The amazing M hosted a game night, and my party favor was a bag of frozen blackberries. I know exactly what to do with blackberries, so today I made cobbler ( Read more... )

We had apple pie for dinner!

Skillet apple pie. Slightly modified from the original recipe (OK, so for the liquidy bits, I had to change practically the whole thing. I didn't have the 1/2 cup of apple cider or the 1/3 cup maple syrup. I did have the 2 Tbps lemon juice, the cornstarch, and the cinnamon, sorta. Hey, Austin peoples! The Petsmart up at I-35 and Parmer has a couple of really cute kitties in their adoption center. One is posted as a Maine Coon cross (I'm slightly partial to the breed): about a year old, male, loves people, doesn't get along with other kitties. I like having cats as pets. My two are pretty weird little guys, but mostly well-behaved. They have lots of toys to play with-- and they do play with both handmade and store-bought toys. One of the more recent discoveries is ping-pong ball + bathtub = fun with cats. My Pico loves the bathtub. He loves watching the water run. He can close the drain ( Read more... )
