I cheat a lot. [laughs] I'm bad at actually watching/reading canons, but I'm pretty good at stalking characters in camp, checking out their app canons, and otherwise getting a feel for their general personality, so I can figure out how Cass would read them and what her impressions would be. (This is easiest when I actually know the canon, but.) I also pay attention to icons and keywords; even if I need to filter for jokes/OOC stuff, it helps. And I bookmarked that poll I made in the OOC comm about body language, so I can refer back as needed

*nods* For the record, from what I've seen I think you do it very well. I can't even imagine trying to make a character like Cass work without cheating on irc. (What's the funniest keyword you've found on your quest for IC cues?)

Hmmm... selfishly, I want another CCS!Sakura so I have an excuse to keep Toya in camp a little longer. Unselfishly, Oz from Buffy. I don't understand why no one has apped this boy yet, he's perfect for camp.

. . . my memory fails and I can't remember if they threaded or if she just saw Tohru around during the game orz. (Also I need to finish your canon, I've only read the first volume but it was great. [laughs]) Hm. Tohru basically falls under the "good civilian" category -- he seems friendly and outgoing, which is good, but she honestly doesn't get pinged that hard by people who aren't non-civilians or Jesuses. Cass also has no idea that the crossdressing thing is at all weird, and is just curious as to why Tohru's mannerisms change when he's in a dress. :Db

What's Tohru's favorite part of camp?

Oh wow, >D I'm so happy she picked up that much, because there's so much more to being a Princess than just acting like a girl. MY CANON IS AWESOME, and though it's not available in scanlations, it's only 5 books long. /pimp

Hmm, well, it's a combination of the people and getting to live on his own that teenagers love so much. He gets all excited!!1 when Yuu, Mikoto, Megumi and him do chores around the hotel room and clean THEIR HOUSE up. Or times when they go down into the hall, which to him feels very much like their living room where they receive people and screw around on the sofas, play Ouija, etc. BUT the people are just as good, too, although he really only counts two or three people out of everyone he talks to.

What are Cass's thought on Stephanie? (NOTE I know nothing about the canon other than Stephanie has an icon where she's all grabby with Cass. XD)

I bought the first one! And then promptly added the other four to my Amazon cart! . . . and then forgot about them. I WILL BUY THEM EVENTUALLY. Yes. (Also, amusingly, I was convinced that Mikoto was the main character right until I opened the first volume. Despite Tohru being on the cover. And despite me stalking the Princesses in camp. Y-yeah.)

Also, do you feel that you have an apping pattern? Do you draw any similarities between Fiore and Cass?

Pretty much the same as Tohru -- "good civilian", friendly and outgoing, good to her friends, but basically a civilian so she didn't get pinged that much. Although Yoshino does kendo, right? (I don't know your canon, just what I've seen in camp. >_>) So Cass would've picked up on "some fighting training", at least, and that's always interesting!

I have . . . basically two character archetypes I fall into playing a lot. One is the aggressively cheerful social-butterfly crazy male character, and the other is the sensible obsessively-devoted quiet female character. Cass and Fiore are both the latter type, although Fiore is more so, and that's entirely how Joshua topped me into apping her maid. [laughs] There are also physical similarities -- short straight dark hair, relatively lean build, average height, still distinctly feminine, unusual costume that they're almost always in -- and other conceptual similarities -- neither one is a normal human and both are fully aware of it, both have special abilities, both have a lesbian OTP female

Yup, Yoshino practices kendo everyday, but will eternally only be average, or a little less than average at it orz

Yoshino, as well as her lesbian OTP female BFF are my absolute favorite characters in Marimite. Annnnd, as I've discovered through many a failed app, I think I can only app my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE CHARACTER EVER from a series. I... actually first apped her about 2-3 years ago, when CFUD was just a baaaaby, which failed terribly. Then, after getting in and dropping Crowley, I missed playing lots and decided to give it a go with the first character I had ever tried to app. It's was also convenient because there was still new canon coming out for her. To me, Yoshino's a very real character. She's got tons of weaknesses and failures and isn't a saint by far. She's stubborn, but she isn't gonna kill herself over anything. She's selfish and hypocritical, and not apologetic. Even though you can find these kinds of people everywhere, I feel that this kind of character doesn't appear often at all in fiction

Hmm. Tough one! I bookmarked the post that started "the baby was okay", and still reread that thread once in awhile for great hilarity. I have "it's Riddle's fault" written on my original whiteboard from the start of this semester, because Joshua wrote it to test whether or not I really knew CFUD. :Db And I keep forgetting to erase that board.
