It's getting harder and harder for me to read my RSS feeds in the mornings because the imminent season premiers of both Lost and BSG mean lots of speculation--both informed and ill--and not a couple of posts along the lines of 'I've seen the premier and you haven't and it's awesome!' I really don't give a rat's ass about the new year--unless I'm with friends at a party or something. This year I'm all alone and fine with it, because the new year means one thing: TV marathons, particularly Twilight Zone on Sci Fi. Confession: I love organization and storage supplies. Especially when they pertain to kitchen storage. After breaking my largest mixing bowl while making Swedish sandwich cookies (grr), I decided to treat myself while at Williams-Sonoma buying a replacement. Today's Highlight: While browsing the cable guide, I discovered that I finally get NBC in HD. Finally! This has been a major cause of consternation since I got my cable, so good on ya Time Warner for sucking a little bit less. Oh! And I can watch the Yule log in all it's HD glory whenever I want on ch. 1199. Who knew? -
In Romanian elections, TV viewers are the winners.
Even though the '08 election was exciting, like watching a bunch of puppies frolic for attention (oh puppy ustream cam, how I will miss thee), there was still one element that was business as usual--that televisual quaalude known as the debates. I love watching Rachel Maddow on MSNBC, but sometimes, no matter how entertaining she is while she's shoveling political news down my gullet, I can't help but feel a little depressed about the state of some things--take the Prop 8 battle in CA, for example. Thankfully, she featured "Prop 8: The Musical" on her show last night:

1: My dad got a job offer today!! Or really, yesterday evening, but he didn't call me until today. w00t. This was the second time in the past 4 years he's been sans regular employment, though this time it's been for less than a year--thanks for that silver lining, I suppose.
