Oh my God! Me too. I see these things I realize there is never, ever any freaking "after" picture for any of us. It's all during no matter what. It is a huge responsibility.
Even now it really upsets me how other people react to seeing such large people. I got into a huge fight with my boyfriend over the show "Inside the Brookhaven Hospital". There is so much to food addiction beyond just being "lazy" or other things people throw at it and so few people manage to reverse morbid obesity long term. Each time I get out to exercise or think "do I really want to DO THIS today?" I see my own early death chasing me down. These people are already more dead than alive and aren't even able to leave bed in most cases. It's really sad.

It triggers a craving that is beyond anything, wherein I have to eat 10,000...I am insane when it comes to these foods. I also can have a problem with abstinent food...so I weigh and measure everything I put in my mouth. I feel so sorry for these folks--but there is hope for them. In OA, my dear friend used to be 700 lbs. He is 200 lbs today and has kept off 500 lbs for 9 years now. He is a remarkable example of recovery, as you are! :)

I can't accept the designation of being an example of recovery. I'm not in oa and I left oa, although I really think it is of great value. I believe that obesity is comprised of many components. One of those is emotional, one is medical/genetic/chemical, and the other is behavioral. We have a long way to go to figure out which portion is contributing the problem most in which people
