Basement Flooding
The village has a tree on the parkway whose roots have grown into our main sewer line. We've had people out twice already to power rod our line because we've had minor flooding all summer. So, yesterday, there was a sudden brief rain and our basement flooded with sewage. This is the first time that we've had sewage. Previously it has just been ( Read more... ) -

Mmmm, the smell of melted lead in the morning. I wonder how many brain cells died while I was out at the beamline. -
The Battle is On...
...to stop D from abusing the guinea pigs. D has been quicker than her brother to figure out how to pick up the guinea pigs and she delights in showing off her skill. This morning I woke up to find D in her nightgown sitting on a coffee can and staring into the Guinea pig cage. I offered her a stool, but she said the coffee can was more comfortable. -
New Family Members
Today, we went to the Critter Corral Open House. We saw Keifer and I have pictures of the kids holding him.

This massive splurge of livejournal posting will probably end soon. I had some time this week because my users have been cancelling their trips (due to lack of crystals) so I had some free time. Prius Second Collision
My little Prius does not get along well with stop signs. On D's birthday, an unlicensed driver ran a stop sign and caused $3500 in damages. The police came and arrested the other driver because he didn't have a license. Hill struck his head.
