Happy New Year to myself. I spent the evening alone at my parent's house. They didn't stay up this year. This sort of thing is really depressing.

Hee hee. My mom confirmed this for me yesterday. The hair that I couldn't tell if it was just lighter or grey is actually grey.

The prelim is done. Thank goodness I can now move on and try and get other things done.

I'm back from Sweden and absolutely buried in things to do. I spent the morning getting my inboxes unburied. I still have to sort out receipts and that kind of thing, get information to people who want it, I have an MRI appointment for tomorrow, I go out of town again over the weekend, and I have no idea when I'll actually get any real work done

I have a prelim committee!!! I got an official letter today informing me of such. It's almost worth framing as pseudo-evidence of progress.

I've finally beaten my PS2 version of Rockband into submission. I've managed to pass (and by pass we mean barely squeak by) all of the other songs on the guitar solo campaign on expert. The second shot at the proposal is now done and in the hands of bureaucratic peoples. I hate pushing things to the last minute. It means that trying to do a final readthrough becomes infinitely more challenging once you realize that you aren't actually comprehending ANYTHING that you wrote.

First I got purple hexagons and now I have purple hexagon flowers!!! Helen asked me what the purple hexagons were about and I explained. I came back from lunch to purple flowers on my desk! How cool!!!
