when did the pronunciation of "pakistan" become "pahkistahn"?

you're americans, speaking to other americans. it's okay to pronounce things with an american accent.

and why "pahkistahn" in the same sentence with afghanistan (pronounced normally)? if you're gonna be pretentious, at least be consistently pretentious.
