I've given up the placement and emailed my tutor to say I want to withdraw from the course. It occured to me that I don't have to be a teacher if I don't want to and I don't want to. Meanwhile temping will keep wolves from doors and I can think about what I want to do next. I think it is because my temping has been going well that I realised I don' ( Read more... )

I am sorry that it did not work out, but as you say, there seems little point putting yourself through a placement that you don't like in order to be qualified to do something that you don't want to do...

Inded - I think I picked up enough on the course to know that lack of both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation does not augur well for success...

:o( It is hard to know how something will turn out until one embarks upon that road I guess. And there are just so many far-distant receding roads to look down and wonder about...

Still, admin might be okay for a while, but wouldn't you hanker for being involved in the research aspects of a university rather than the admin ones?
