A few weeks ago while doing a run of the holy trinity of Japanese bookstores in NYC, I found out that Asahiya will be closing at the end of October. It's funny living in the world we live in today. I'm sure for many of you, school is/was a safe place of learning and not gunman's shooting range. Excluding problems with bullies and peer pressure, I don't think I ever thought of school as being unsafe that is until the events of Columbine.
