The "Above the Game" Kickstarter: My thoughts may surprise you but shouldn't

Quite possibly this is one of the most controversial, disliked things I'm ever going to post on this journal. Content warnings for rape, sexual assault, misogyny, assholery and the FIRST FUCKIN' AMENDMENT.

Let's get this out of the way:

I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.-- attributed to Voltaire ( Read more... )

first amendment bitchezzzzzzzzzzz, gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, someone is wrong on the internet, politics

I agree. The book's gross, but the Kickstarter response is appropriate.

I know people who have raised money for a lot of things there, including media with sexual content that I'm certain SOMEONE finds offensive.

If people want to fund a guy to publish a book full of the crap they can find for free on /r/seduction, then...*shrug*

Yes I do believe you can support both sides. Yes, I signed the petition, but that is all I did. I voiced my thoughts on it, then got back to work, with my thoughts on the boy child I brought up and how glad I am that I did so with a vastly different opinion of women and how they should be 'handled' than these people.

It is up to Kickstarter to take action, or not - it is already funded, people have given their money. They presumably will get the product, and hopefully some will realize what was presented on the kickstarter site as its contents isn't what they got.
