We walked the Heart Creek Trail today with a couple friends. It was the first hike of 2008 and everything went great. In order to see the waterfall at the end of the trail we had to walk in knee-deep zero degree water. Brrr.... but the rest of the scenery was in plain sight...

This weekend I did a shoot with my niece Trinity. She is about two and a half weeks old in these pictures. I think over the next few years I'll be the Trinity Paparazzi so expect more pictures soon.

I woke up early this morning and there was a heavy fog. I started brewing some coffee, grabbed my camera, and headed for the dirt road by my house. Got some new chairs in the dining room and thought it was a great opportunity to take some pictures of the fish tank. I want to restock a bit when we get back from Mexico. I'm thinking a small schooling fish like a Tetra.

We picked out our wedding bands this weekend and I think I got the short end of the stick. The taxes on Carrie's band could've covered the whole cost of mine. Mine is made out of titanium though, so although it doesn't have any diamonds, it is still way cooler. We also went to the Airdrie Festival of Lights. It was very Christmas-y.

This weekend my consulting firm got together to celebrate Christmas. We booked The River Cafe in Princess Island Park which has the perfect atmosphere for a winter party. I jumped out my window this weekend so I could string up some Christmas lights. We went with red LEDs and some funky candy-cane dealys above the porch. I still don't think Carrie is too impressed but she is at least less dissapointed than last year.

I started a new consulting gig at a company called Cambrian House this week. They attempt to leverage "the wisdom of crowds" to ensure that production resources are only allocated to efforts that have a chance of succeeding. They call what they do Crowdsourcing and have a strong cognizance in the Calgary developer community.

We travelled to Edmonton for Anais' birthday this year and visited the mall. West Edmonton Mall is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for the "largest shopping centre in the world" but I think it's third largest now.
