Just leaving work now for a five-day weekend in DC to see the inauguration. Excitement! I don't have a ticket, though Aaron does. We're carpooling with David and Sharon in their nice big van.

Looking back on 2008, it was overall a good year. I could have done with less broken elbows, perhaps. I met Aaron who is quite an amazing guy. I remodelled my kitchen which was a huge and satisfying project. I got super in shape and competitive on the bike. Aaron and I unwrapped our presents early. We blame each other for not being able to wait. I got him baskets for his bike, a magnetic knife rack, and a kitten which we'll bring home after the holidays. Yesterday started poorly, but it ended well. Aaron got a ride home with Cory so they were hanging out when I got home. We spent a while chatting over a bottle of wine, then we decided to go get some sushi at Rusan's. I have an unreasonable fondness for sushi. We came home and played some WoW. So I was actually going to work on time today. I stopped on the way out to water the Christmas tree. Once again, I put too much in and it puddled all over the floor. These are wood floors that need refinishing. Arg! Too much water was trapped under the stand to mop it up. I'm riding the train home. The tv is on. It is of people wearing ballgowns and tuxedos throwing cream pies at each other. There is no sound.

I rode my bike to work for the first time since my second broken elbow today. I felt really good and ready for the ride so I just did it. I get my official all clear xrays next Monday, so I feel like I'm not pushing it too much. I have missed riding so much. It's very limiting to only be able to go where MARTA does. I turned in my first foster cat yesterday. It was pretty tough because we'd started to get attached to him after a week and a half. He was one of those super friendly cats that likes to follow you everywhere while meowing so he can sit on you as soon as you stop moving. I'm still trying to form the journal habit. How long have I had this thing and not kept it up? I worry that if I don't write things down I won't remember them. Life is too good right now to forget.
