Choices.

Those of you that have known me for any length of time will know that, probably more than I realise, I've stated that the best advice I've ever been given is "you ALWAYS have a choice". It may not necessarily be a nice or sensible choice, but a choice still remains. So, given that line of thinking: Am I *choosing* not to get better? Or at least not ( Read more... )

advice, health., choices

Well if it's taken me this long to get to this point, maybe I never will.

I don't think that, but some positive thinking has got to help

"I don't think that"

Which?

And yeah, but I've always been good at that (I think so anyway) when it regards other people, but when it comes to *me*... then my inate hypocrisey seems to take over..

Maybe you're choosing not to be patient enough.
I'm currently fed up of dizzy spells and feeling rough, but watched the first of the 'eddie izzard marathon man' programmes yesterday and that has inspired me to try a bit harder to achieve something even through the feeling horrid.
Only you know how much you can or should ignore the ill health and limitations your body is currently giving you. Perhaps spend some time working out what you can do, and ignoring those things you can't or shouldn't do?
Sometimes life sucks whatever choices we make, and sometimes even when we're plugging away there's an evil gnome walking along behind ruining everything we touch (that's my excuse anyway). Our choice is to laugh and keep plugging away or sit down and wail.
I seem to be alternating at the moment.

Well, I've been home off work for *at least* ten years now - I know, scares the shit out've me too - so I don't know how long it's going to take, esp thinking of some of the great things/people I've gained and lost over that time.

I saw that too and was pretty impressed. I did feel sorry for his 'team' though.

I just try to be better than the day before. if it all goes tits up, which it frequently still does, then when I can pick myself up again and realise that i have to make it better for myself, then I try again.

The very fact that you are asking the question indicates that you are thinking slightly positively. Keep asking that question and the way forward will become clearer.
The best advice I was ever given was/is very similar.
"The choice is yours."
Keep on thinking Spike - you know you can.
