I am THRILLED at the lack of ashtrays any more. Back in the dark ages when I first started working, people, patients/staff, were still allowed to smoke in the hospital. :o :o :o
I’m not much of a candy eater. Chicken bones, a uniquely Canadian candy, were fun when you could find them (cinnamon hard candy with a chocolate centre, usually available only in the Maritimes). Otherwise, icy squares chocolates were the closest to Christamassy that I enjoyed.
That would have been my grandfather’s, the kind that was as tall as a side-table. He died in 1982. I do remember those beanbag ashtrays, but only from seeing them for sale.
No different than in summer? I live in the city. We have signs 😉.
I confess that these days signs plus Google Maps works better. But in a snowstorm, just being able to read a sign and have a general idea of where I am is good.
These candies were a holiday favorite of mine. What was your favorite holiday candy? Jubes.
Can you remember the last time you saw an ashtray in someone's home? How about one of these? I don't remember the last time I saw an ashtray in a home, and I've never seen a beanbag ashtray.
How good is your sense of direction in the winter? About the same as it is the rest of the year. Excellent in the southern hemisphere in any season, so-so in the northern hemisphere in any season.
Me neither. Especially since I've become very sensitive to the scent. In fact, it used to make me nauseated when coworkers came in from outside and the smoke was clinging to their clothes, as it does.
Oh, and my sense of direction is 90 degrees skewed in one direction or the other all of the time.

Same here, not anymore at least. As a kid, there wasn't much that I didn't like.
It's been so long since I've even seen an ashtray.
Signs don't help me...

I have to confess that I rely upon my phone for the most part these days.

Those are good, too.
It's a great step forward, I think.
I'm usually lost, no matter the hemisphere. :P

I have to admit to never having been a fudge fan, but candy canes... oh, yeah!

I joke that I am never lost because people always tell me where to go.
