Fandom drift, LJ, and a thread to talk about it all

Surgery was the 20th , and I am still feeling sore and exhausted. I'm told that this is gonna last for a few weeks, then get kinda better for months, and should be almost normal in a year. But - good part here - I really think that this is gonna do one helluva lot to get rid of the pain so anything else is worth it

I wonder about it as well, even as I've kinda done it. My stuff was mostly physical - haven't been back to the Board so I suspect I won't. This is the placwe where I want to be - and I suspect there are all sorts of Buffy fans on LJ but I don't know them and I probably won't

But I want to talk about Buffy. The 'whys' and the 'do you think' and sometimes I get in on a good conversation - her or in another journal, but then it finally dies and there's nothing to replace it.

Could we make a BTVS & AtS discussion place? Maybe have a group rewatch?

I've been having a bed sore issue, so I've been laying down and watching Buffy, and I love it. Things I've forgotten - connections made - awful clothes - great dialogue - and what if....Xander never saved Buffy and the Master killed her?

Yeah - tumblr is just for pretties for me - I hear there are other things but I have all that here - and all the fic online.

As far as I myself am concerned, I haven't been helping the LJ drift much lately, as I've not been around much at all. Now the reason for that is over, I hope to be around more, but you're quite right to say that the BtVS fandom on LJ is pretty much gone. Things were still ticking over to some extent until the end of last year and then it suddenly went very quiet.

I base this observation on the sudden fall in output on sb_fag_ends, which was still a reasonably busy little comm until then. It felt like it happened almost overnight, and I've no idea why.

I've looked at Buffyboards but find some of the posters on there so obnoxious that I think I'm best staying away. I can't help thinking that one of the reasons why it's busier than the other fanboards now is because so many of the posters on there do hate Spike, and if they have nothing else to say, they'll always want to talk about that.

Buffy boards weren't bad - there's a nice coterie of Spike fans, and I managed to light the fuse. But I don't seem to be returning. There's not anyone I miss, and I'm social.

If we all had one place to go, maybe we would all go there. A BTVS & ATS journal maybe where everyone starts a question of the week, and all the discussions can stay open? I'd like to have one, and I'm willing to start one - but would anyone come?
