My musings on Brokeback Mountain

Hmmm. I know I'm probably going to upset a few people by saying this (sorry stretfordditto) but I thought the movie was rather weak to say the least. Although it is a beautiful, yet very sad story, the film just didn't hit me in the emotional way that I thought it would. In all honesty, Heath Ledger couldn't act his way out of a wet paper bag! Had to apologise Ditto coz I've know you've spent money to see it more than once!

Heath doesn't have an accent coz he bloody mumbles all the time! I can't understand a bloody word that boy says! ;) I must admit, I've seen the shorts for Casanova and will see it at some stage but if I don't like it I'll never watch another HL movie again! When I saw Ned Kelly (thank God I didn't pay for that one either!) I thought Orlando Bloom completely over shadowed him. I haven't seen Two Hands and don't intend to!

Did you sneak in the back way?

LMAO! Nah, I got to see it in the comfort of my own home (Shhhh!)

Actually, I do want to see Casanova but if he mumbles his way through that too then I'm done with him! ;)

Have you ever seen an interview with him? The boys like a dead fish.

I loved Heath's performance and loved Heath's explaination of his motivation for the mumbling

But hey each to their own . I appreciate an honest review and if we all thought the same way they'd flip us on our backs once a year and shear us

That sounds like fun.. Think I'll get my lady shave out :D

As I said to Ditto the film does not appeal to me for the simple fact I am not into soppy sloppy love stories.

It isn't really a soppy sloppy love story as such. I really want to read the book because I think the actual story line is brilliant.

Having grown up in Texas in the 60s, Heath's performance was right on. It fact, it was kinda spooky for me ... he was too much like too many guys I KNOW! I agree on Gyllenhaal, he was bloody brilliant, and not just the incredible blue eyes.

Glad we agree that Gyllenhaal was bloody brilliant :D Such expression and emotion. And yep, gotta love those baby blues!
