This one's better, because it reminds her that there's more to Torah learning than getting into JTS, and means she won't spend the next three months fretting :)
Last night Chris and I looked at the JTS calendar and I said, "That's where Gella's going to go to school." Not Where you want to go but where you are going. They are not going to make a liar of me. If you need a letter of recommendation from an official "Bad Jew." Just ask.
I haven't read it but I know you and when they read your essay they are going to say, "We need her here."
Mazel Tov!
As for what to do now. Have some fun. Listen to Live Noise and each sushi.
Now you breathe, and treat yourself to something nice for having finished your application. (If it were me, I would go to Norman's and get a really good burger. That place is amazing
( ... )
As for what you do now, it sounds like the process is a lot like applying to any grad school program (complete with GRE, apparently).
You breath.
And try not to get your stomach in a knot whenever the mail comes (and, in my case, after waiting for a letter, I wound up being accepted through a surprise email anyway).
And I'm fairly confident that they won't mind a few extra pages of reading. While it's good to take the guidelines into account, I think that if they dismissed your application for a few extra pages, you'd be better off not going there anyway (which I don't think they will do, so that's not something to worry about).
Anyway, again, congratulations on getting that in! Honestly, I think that that step is often one of the hardest.

But from what I know of you and your relationships at JTS, you'll be just fine.
