I've been talking a fair bit about this on FB, but not everyone FBs, I know.
I had elective shoulder surgery, it went fine. )

Glad you made it through OK.

Are you finding the nerve block to be really, really weird?

When I had shoulder surgery (for a different condition) I was in PT 4 hours post-surgery. I think the advice to move gently is good.

Yes, the nerve block is really really weird. Especially the proprioception failures -- my brain insists it knows where my arm is but sometimes it's just so wrong -- "I can't feel my elbow isn't moving at all but I can see my hand moving, my forearm has clearly gone all bendy."

My biceps just came back online but triceps and sensation haven't, so I keep sort of trying to punch myself in the face.

I don't know about "serious" -- it's the sort of thing where deciding to just put up with my shoulder being kinda unreliable would certainly have been an option, and before arthroscopic surgery would probably have been the best option. But I miss judo and lying on my left side, so I decided to go for it.

Thank you for the well-wishes.
