I'm angry a lot these days. I'm angry at the kids I work with; I'm angry at my political "representatives." I'm angry at my church; I'm angry at random rude people. I'm angry at the "Christian" community in the States; I'm angry at my family. Mostly, though, I'm angry at myself . . . and at God.

I watch them, these kiddos, so crazy and inventive, and I marvel. Part of their personalities is genetics, yes. But I can't help thinking . . .
They're fearless because they're allowed to be -
twenty
Most of the things I list when you ask what I love are small-pleasure, soft, warm things--quilts and kittens and sunshine on the bottoms of my feet and so forth.
What is sort of funny to me is that in order for these small soft warm things to be truly appreciated, I have to live in a large, hard, cold environment.
It's an irony for sure. -

I don't really like rain when I can't play in it.
It'd be nice to work more than twelve-to-twenty hours a week. REALLY nice, actually.
I'd also like to figure out self-employment taxes, and if I even qualify for it.
Beirut is really not the best time-to-ruminate music ever.

A five year-old, singing: satan is the shortest in the whole wide world.
I have to say, I understand his logic. God is the BIGGEST, right? So it only makes sense that His enemy, that one who's already been beaten, is the exact opposite. -

we came up and said hello
Usually the high points of my days are something really miniscule and trivial-seeming. The same was true today, of course.
Kids playing in parks make me happy. Dogs playing in parks make me happy. So mixing the two was, of course, only made more awesome by the fact that this was a repeat run-in. ♥ -

Today, while we were at the park, the three year-old drew X's all over the ground, shouting, as he did, "JUMANJI IS COMING!"
People probably thought we were part of some crazy cult.
Nope. He's just terrified of that movie.
