Yesterday a beautiful, clear-eyed boy on a rusty bicycle was trying to take his portfolio into way too upscale of a gallery. My friend teased him about the glittery handles on his bike and promised him that she had owned this bike in another life. I asked if I could see his work, and it broke my heart. It was so insipid. I handed it back stammering about organic forms, but really I just wanted to save him.
Beautiful boys are not puppies I can take home. Sigh.
Yes there is. In fact, there are many. Just because someone is scrumptious doesn't mean it's a good idea for me to get involved with him! Rather than put him down or explain my unreadiness to get romantically involved with anyone... I'll just say that I prefer to keep him as a friend for a long, long time rather than become one of his many past sweethearts.
