Back on track. After all my whining about lack of writing enthusiasm, I've just finished a story. (Ironically, the one that had the least work done on it to begin with.) Lesson learned: when having problems with a short story, jump to the climax or even the resolution. Then you can go back and say, "Now, what has to happen to get from here to here. ( Read more... )

I'd like to take it as some sort of omen, since the shake, rattle, and roll happened just as I finished introducing myself to my English 4 class, but all that happened was a few seconds of mild worry, and then we all just got on with things. No one turned a hair, as it were. Ah, Californian equanimity.
