[so.
this prolonged-darkness action. how goes it, Splendor? still braving the outdoors under that weird new sky?
well. perhaps you have estranged company, or maybe it's just coincidence he's there, but Alex absolutely cannot let a situation like this go without inspecting. he's not one for stealth, so spotting him now and then isn't difficult.

... eerie, to say the least. Every once in a while, his lantern would flicker and dance, but he refused to conduct magic to it. It was better to go... natural with these sorts of things. You never knew what sort of consequence could happen when a foul wind was around.
And so, he walked quietly- and carefully down the street. The light danced around him as it swayed back and forth, but beyond the beacon laid nothing more than darkness. As far as he extended it, it felt like the darkness was swallowing what little light there was. Even with this lantern, his visibility was only slightly better than worse, you could say. ]

of course, that just leaves more time to wonder just why Edel was wandering around here, now? maybe to hug some trees or something. Alex figures that's something he might do if no one was watching, ha ha...
so he's a distance away, but considering that lantern's like the only reliable light, it's not like it'd be hard to see him from any further...]

Edel took a look behind him and stopped. The light shone off his glasses as he raised the lantern, but he really thought nothing of it.
If anything, maybe it was all in his imagination. Perhaps it would be best to just enjoy the surroundings as they were and- perhaps, even stargaze.
Of course, that is assuming Edel wasn't uptight. ]

BORING.
and Alex is only allowing so much time for that nonsense. like, five minutes. tops. before he skulks into some foliage and decides to make a nuisance of himself.
rustle, rustle. SUSPICIOUS FOLIAGE-RUSTLING.]

Edel counterattacks.
By freaking out and dropping his lantern with a large thud. It knocks the light out after it's first bounce, leaving Edel scrambling to find it. Even if he were to light a match now, it would only go out with the wind that blew through the trees if he wasn't careful or quick about lighting that damn lantern. ]
[ And yes, Edel is mumbling to himself, perhaps making a few noises here and there as he feels the ground around him for the lantern. Of course, with the right gust of wind it will just roll the hell away from him for hilarity's sake. ]

he lets the pathetic fumbling persist for a minute or so before slinking out of the green, circling around with those quiet bare feet of his.
and then, close enough but just out of peripheral (for a moment), he brings a foot and presses it down on Edel's back, lightly for a slight second and then down HARD. TO THE GROUND WITH YOU.
the rest of his weight follows, using his forearms to pin flaily arm-limbs that aren't his.]

No, he was really paralyzed with fear.
Of course, with not being able to see who the hell this was, he certainly takes the moment to finally open his mouth to, somehow, hopefully, let out a yell. ]

he bends forward and offers up remarks in a hushed, teasing tone:] Edel, you are dead now. If it were not me.

I-I demand you unhand me, Darkov!
[ He sighed angrily, looking away from the man (even if he could hardly see him) and... shifted. Well, he was trying to get him off of him and, really, how well was that going to work out? ]
Now!

but he rolled off, still giggling like an impish child.]
Edel! [hahaha!] I never had hand on you!

Instead, he just angrily frowns and ignores his childish antics. Whether it was a hand or not didn't matter, stupid! That was incredibly uncalled for! Jerk. ]
... Is this how you entertain yourself? [ he proceeds to crawl on the ground in search of his lantern- ] By ambushing people?

[ And he mumbles now, still searching for that damned lantern ] Not all of us have to fear for our lives every moment, but I suppose that's not even a luxury we can afford even here now is it?
What were you even doing out here? Without a lantern, at that!

while Edel continues lantern-fishing (hey, Alex did his part! do the rest yourself!), Alex crosses his legs up and sits, folding his arms in turn.]
I can see fine.

Oh, isn't that interesting. One of your many skills, I assume?
