Am I the only one who objects to giving Andy King £15 to pay my respects to a departed friend?

in all fairness Andy King didnt have to do that it.

The £15 also gives you access to facilities like toilets, bar, food traders, the opportunity to get into kit and play your character if you wish so you can say bye IC too even though it is an OOC wake. it also covers you under the insurance incase of any accidents. Plus you get seperate parking area for cars so no risk of being blocked in by late larpers there for the whole weekend. Plus it allows you to stay till midday on Saturday to allow alcohol to leave body etc.

There is another memorial at maelstrom aswell.

I know it doesnt seem right or fair but LT is a buisness and does not have to allow for these situations.

sorry if this seems insensitive it isnt meant to be just trying to shed light on the reasoning behind it if that makes sense

If Andy had said £5 of this would go to the charity Or £10.00 considering he only pays a few people to be there. Would make the £15.00 feel less like a charge to pay your respects (in my view)

but it isnt a charge to pay your respects. Its a charge for access to the site.

I am completely unsurprised that he would sink to such a deplorable level.

Has removed any lingering doubts about the G though.

I'm sorry Chris, but I disagree completely with this and feel AK is getting a raw deal on this issue. There are plenty of reasons people can attack the LT, this one is unfair ( ... )

Stu, I am not debating the right of the LT to charge people for access to the site. It is very logical and makes perfect busness sense.
However there is such a thing as compassion and I find the moral implications over someone profiting at Mikes death abhorrent.
I find it highly unlikely that the overall cost per head of someone attening the wake came to £15.

Everyone seems to be focusing on rights and business actions here.
No AK didn't have to let people have a wake.
If you don't want to pay dont come.
Both sound agruments bereft of any emotion what so ever.
