Well, it isn't so much that he lacked skill (and you are a lucky girl) but that he pretended to have skills that weren't there. So second date gets vetoed on dishonesty.

I can easily figure out why he insisted on cooking for me in his apartment now, and it is not a nice reflection on him if it is true.
