I've never done it but I know a few people that have done it by saying they are going to lose their scholarship, try to throw in that you dont want to end up at a lesser school such as a community college etc.

Go around the proffessor and beg the department head thats what i'm doing to get them to remove the F off of my transcript.

Also go to your registrars office they may have an "Academic Standing Committee Appeals" form.
