Update: it's just occurred to me that the song probably intends "sealing wax" rather than "ceiling wax". I am 34 years old but have only just realised that. I always did wonder what ceiling wax was, but assumed that manly people who know about DIY would know what it was. In fairness, the concept of "sealing wax" makes no sense to a child of the 20th century, but "ceiling wax" has some sort of plausibility. And once an idea takes root in the youthful brain, it's hard to weed it out. You probably can't buy sealing wax at B&Q, but if ceiling wax existed, you definitely could.

I can just picture Armstrong and Miller performing this, with "Xander" as the cajoling dad and "Ben" as the trend-conscious youth. Also when I was at uni Aaron once sent me a letter that he had sealed with candle wax because he said he couldn't afford an envelope.
