Sam Winchester's Summer: Adventure Ocean!

What Sam did during the summer.

guest-starring Thor & another super-secret surprise guest!

After a frustrating summer, with no leads on how to get his brother out of Purgatory, Sam was near his wit’s end.

Then one night when he was scouring the internet for ideas, he stumbled across something he hadn’t yet considered an option. The Bermuda Triangle - otherwise known as the Devil’s Triangle, which meant it was technically his anyway, seeing as how he used to be Lucifer.

Sam decided to start with the Bermuda-adjacent part of the triangle. He’d brought along several dimension-linking spells and incantations to try. The first two had no effect, but the last one was going to work. It had to! Unfortunately the spell had to be recited underwater. So Sam swam out into the cold water:

Then when he was at the exact location the spell required, he took a deep breath and dove in:

BLERTH THLAK EV AK! Sam said, invoking the cross-dimensional portal. This was not easy because of all the water.

Thunder crashed all around him and a huge bolt of lightning struck the water, surprising several fish to death. The spell had worked!

Sam looked around for a portal to Purgatory:

but he didn't see one. Then he heard a voice coming from nearby! Sam turned toward the speaker.

"Was it you who summoned me?" the newcomer said. "I did not arrive via the Bifrost - this much I know!"

Sam stared, confused.

"Umm, I was trying to open a portal to Purgatory..." Sam said staring at the stranger.

"Ah! You reached Asgard instead, my friend. An easy mistake. Next time, turn your focus 30 degrees to the right."

"Why were you trying to reach Purgatory? It's most unpleasant there. I'd rather go to Svartalfheim." The stranger laughed and swam out to shore.

Sam followed him, suddenly quite cold.

"See the thing is, my brother's trapped there, and I really need to get him out..." Sam said watching the stranger dry off.

"A wayward brother - to that I can relate. Shall we try the incantation again then?"

"Yeah..."Sam had been planning to do that anyway. "You can just stay here and get dressed though, um...I never got your name?"

"How rude of me. I failed to introduce myself! I am Thor, son of Odin."

"Go fetch your brother, I will wait here."

Sam went back to the ocean and tried the spell once more, but this time nothing happened. No crack of thunder, not even a faint rumble. He swam back to shore disheartened and at first couldn't find Thor at all. Then he saw him in a nearby beachfront property pulling on a pair of jeans.

"You can't just...wander into people's houses and take their clothing!" Sam snapped, as quietly as he could.

The stranger looked at him curiously, and sniffed the air. "Did your summoning work?"

Sam shook his head. "I don't think so."

"Do you...smell wet dog?" Thor said, sniffing the air again.

Sam turned toward the water just in time to see yet another newcomer emerge from the waves.

"That one there, is not what he appears to be," Thor said gravely. "I was right about the wet dog smell."

The newcomer turned towards them and frowned, clearly offended.

"You know, I'm standing right here and I can hear you," he said. "Oh and thanks for getting me out of Purgatory. Your brother - Dean, right? He says "Hi." He's a little busy at the moment but he should be done in another 42 days."

"42 days?" Sam repeated, even more confused. He turned to Thor, who shrugged and said. "Sometimes brothers make the most frustrating choices." He clapped Sam on the shoulder and said, "Come let us go and get a drink somewhere that doesn't smell like wet dog."

"Right here, guys," the wet newcomer said. "You know what? forget it, I'm leaving."

"Did you just..." Sam looked out at the sand again. "Did you just see a white wolf run past us?" He turned back to Thor. "Dude, how long does it take you to get dressed?"

"This home has no shirts that fit me. Ah wait!" He held a large warhammer (and where the Hell had that come from?) into the air, and was suddenly wearing something quite different.

"There, now we can go!" said Thor happily. He eyed Sam suspiciously, "Perhaps you should search this home for clothing as well, scrawny one?"

"Why? What's wrong with this?" Sam said. He thought he looked perfectly presentable. Also, not scrawny.

"Nothing that can't be remedied with strong drink."

And thus, the two went to a nearby bar and spent the night drinking and talking about their brothers.
